Hebrew Fun

We're learning about the Vav Consecutive this week in class. Here's what it does. When it's attached to a Perfect verb (completed action), the verb is translated as an Imperfect verb. When it's attached to an Imperfect verb (incomplete action), the verb is translated as a Perfect verb. Oh, and the Vav Consecutive is spelled differently for each type of verb. For Imperfect verbs, it has a distinct spelling. For Perfect verbs, it is spelled exactly the same way the Hebrew word "and" is spelled.
I'm not making this stuff up. How could I?

SO I was thinking about what you said during our amazing dessert session tonight, AND I was wondering if I could share my opinion w/ you?

I came to a breakthrough regarding studying methods, and it was so obvious I could've kicked myself. Decrease the amt. of time you study the material but increase the repetitions. It's like weights. If you want to be toned lift less weight but do more repetitions. In my psych book it talked about how recall is better improved when you study under a variety of conditions. SO I applied that and made an A on a physics exam-unheard of.

I dunno. Maybe that could help. If not I'm sorry. SHAKAVTEE.

More repetitions - I like that.
I also think I really need a study partner for Hebrew - if I could explain the concepts repeatedly then I think that would work better than flashcards. Dale said I could tell him but I just couldn't bring myself to inflict Hebrew on him...
I need to ask around my class and find out if anyone lives in Raleigh.

That is a fantastic idea! The more that you can make connections with it the better! You could always put up a craigslist posting, too. OR Southeastern Seminary is in Raleigh and I know they obviously study it, too.

Love you!!!!

We could talk to each other in our respective foreign languages. That could be interesting. Or you could talk to me in Hebrew and I could repeat the 3 hebrew words I know, and we all know what kind of conversation THAT would be!

Well, if you can tell me what you posted, then I'll concede your point...

Psalm 16
Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing." ...

Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup;
You have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance. ...
You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

May this Psalm bless you today.
