Boston Photos

Yes, that's a statue of a donkey. We don't know why.

Dale and I at the Red Sox game. Which turned out to be a no-hitter.

Winding up for the historical final pitch.

Dale the proud graduate!

I may need to steal Dale's Red Sox hat. Do you think that he will notice?? I love the donkey pic. Too funny. He should have climbed on it.

Oh yes, Dale would notice the stealing of the hat. That hat actually has a very special story behind it.

Something to do with the Democratic Party, maybe? Who knows! Glad you had fun on your trip!

If you Google Boston, donkey statute, you get this:

Conventioneers who fear all this will let Republicans tag Mr. Kerry as a plutocrat-Democrat might visit the donkey statute standing outside Old City Hall. It's a tribute to Andrew Jackson's plucky stratagem against critics who termed him a ''jackass.'' He seized the negative. He made the donkey an enduring symbol of the party and its resilience, and of spin politicking, too.

Maybe it was erected at the last election? Who know?
